I am so excited! (I) Silvertwists will return jazz to the Dunsmuir Hellman Historic Estate(aka Dunsmuir House and Gardens) this summer. I will begin with the Summer Movie Nights; picnic supper and jazz , starting June 26. The movie scheduled is My Fair Lady. The jazz performance will have two sets starting @ 6:30p and 7:30p. Wow! This is a wonderful opportunity.

Jazz...What else?
Lots of meetings tomorrow...Oakland and San Jose. It is necessary to get the projects off the planning board and make them actually happen. To secure Dunsmuir House and Gardens will be awesome! It would be great to have a local, family owned winery become a sponsor. Maybe Twitter and Zappos could also sponsor along with Good Vibrations and other local businesses. I am waking up in the middle of the night with my head spinning with ideas.
Until next time.....

Jazz and the Bay Area
I heard the news that KKSF is changing its format. It is really unfortunate that the Bay Area will not have the smooth jazz station. Along with job losses and musicians without a support mechanism to get their tunes played, this creates a void. This is a good opportunity to support KCSM 91.1 and let them know they are appreciated.
I view as an opportunity for my company, SilverTwists, to be in the position to embrace and create a mechanism for the musicians to get their tunes played. I am one step closer in getting the Dunsmuir House and Garden venue secured. I am truly elated. This is going to be a wonderful partnership and will benefit not only the parties involved but the community.

Telephone conference with Jackie from Dunsmuir House, quick update meeting with Eddie, connected with Will Nichols and scheduled meeting with him for tomorrow afternoon, working on Doug's bio update for publishing (I hope he likes it), left message with Terry concerning her blog, left a message for Velma to call me regarding her website, still waiting for additional information on Quanti Bomani and Urban Insight, making calls, networking, meeting more people, tweeting, updating facebook, joining groups in the business and learning. Now, I will take a deep breath, enjoy my caramel latte and get busy.
I found a great article that discussed how WOM (word of mouth) is still the best marketing tool for companies to use along with other social networking tools. The test is to have effective marketing to drive conversation. R we talking yet???

Jazz with faith
Another busy week has arrived and I am getting ready to climb the steps of faith. My first project underway is discussing the return of jazz to the Dunsmuir House and Gardens. I was thinking of something in terms of old school (OG's) and new school (Newbies) but my marketing partner offered Icons and Innovators as the theme; I like that.... I have some good ideas on how this project can flow and I am in the process of drafting my plan.
This is very interesting......stay in touch!

Jaazzed!..
Trumpter Eddie Gale and Velma Landers (owner) are working in conjunction with each other to establish Jazz @ Velma's on Thursday evenings beginning June 4th. Eddie is reaching out to his network of musicians to perform at this new San Francisco jazz venue. Eddie Gale will be performing on June 4th; Will Nichols Trio on June 11th; Doug Ellington June 18th- grandnephew of Duke Ellington; and Manny Cruz and his Latin Jazz Band on June 25th. There are two shows - 7pm and 8pm; admission is $15.00.
Since I have had the opportunity to hear them all perform, I can say that this is a great line-up!
Some of these jazz musicians are clients of SilverTwists PR Consultants and we are involved with their brand identity, marketing and promotion. We are also working with Velma to update her brand identity, marketing and design and her online presense. Velma's was previously showcased as Sunday blues venue; however, she is very interested in expanding into the jazz genre. Velma's is a great venue for music and soul food. Powell's kitchen is presently located in Velma and the food is delicious. I'm jaazzed!.....
Stay tuned.
